Front Desk Associate - Medical Clinic

Greets, instructs, and directs patients. Checks patients into electronic health record system, verifies insurance and explains benefits, collects co-pays, and serves as a patient advocate to provide world-class care in coordination with clinical staff and providers.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors in waiting area in a friendly, prompt, and helpful manner.
  • Checks in patients, verifies insurances, updates necessary information in the computer, and collects copay.
  • Promptly answers incoming phone calls.
  • Responsible for daily collection of copays and other forms of payment.
  • Call insurance companies and others to verify patient coverage for treatment.
  • Maintains waiting room in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties, including obtaining wheelchairs and providing assistance with walking.
  • Perform additional clerical duties as necessary.
Key Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • MIN one (1) year of front desk experience (coordinator, receptionist, clerk, agent, specialist, etc) in a healthcare outpatient setting.
  • Ability to work all shifts including, day, night, and weekend hours as needed.
  • Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher when needed.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Types 25 words per minute with 96% accuracy.
  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
