Obtaining patient medical histories Preparing patients for examination Explaining treatment procedures to patients as directed by provider Assisting the physician during exams/procedures utilizing aseptic technique as directed by the provider Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens Instructing patients about medication and orders Call prescriptions in to pharmacies as directed by provider Triage patients over the phone Perform and properly document procedures in EMR Act as liaison between provider and patient Communicate restocking needs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner Maintain medical equipment in proper working order Perform patient teaching as warranted per provider Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments Update and file medical records and insurance reports Skills Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software PRIOR INTERVENTIONAL PAIN MANAGEMENT/C-ARM EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS!!
