Our Warehouse Associate position is a permanent position working to sort, scan, list and shelve books, magazines, and other media products.
If you enjoy consistent, detail-oriented tasks and working in a team environment this may be the position for you!! Advancement opportunities may become available for the right candidate.
This position may require a combination of sitting and standing for most of the shift or standing for most of the shift.
Essential Functions:
Conduct Pre-Scanning of incoming raw book/media to meet production and sales goals.
The E-Commerce Book Associate will utilize computer scanning equipment and software to determine whether an item is acceptable for online listing.
Filling bins with accepted books and media to be listed online Filling allocated bins with rejected books and media to be recycled.
Accurately describe and list books/media online by utilizing a web-based software system.
Generate inventory slips for listed books.
Create space and shelve listed books in their appropriate alphabetical and numerical shelf location sequence.
Generate packaging labels and postage by utilizing a web-based software system.
Pull online book orders from shelves.
Sort shipments per USPS and International shipping vendor guidelines.
Package and ship all orders in a timely and efficient manner to meet preset goals.
Keep work areas neat and organized throughout the shift and all necessary supplies stocked.
Maintain excellent attendance Be aware and meet daily and weekly processing goals.
One hundred percent of the duties are performed in a warehouse Assists in any other projects as determined by management.
Ensure compliance with all Smith Media policies provided in the Team Member Smith Media Guidebook, a Adhere to all Smith Media Manuals, handbooks, policies, and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic knowledge of books Good communication skills.
Must be able to work in open warehouse environment being exposed in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
Competent in internet use and a variety of computer software applications Must have good organizational and decision-making skills Able to work independently and in a team environment Ability to follow verbal instructions.
Be able to continuously perform repetitive work at a set pace.
Must have the ability to learn the techniques of the job from short demonstration up to a period of one month.
Must be fluent in English, bilingual a plus.
Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics.
Requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
No record or disclosure of criminal conviction within 7 years from date of application that indicates a tendency towards theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, moral turpitude, or predatory behavior.
Must provide proof of identification.
